ISSUE 36 - Seasons of Building

There are seasons in life where it feels like you’re pouring everything you have into a vision, yet your reality doesn’t seem to reflect the work you’re putting in.  I’ve found myself in one of those seasons lately.  Not because I’m overwhelmed, but because so much of what I’m building is happening behind closed doors.  The website, the guide, the photography, the philosophy, the conversations, the systems, the foundation.  None of those things are immediately visible to anyone else, but they are all essential to what Manifest in Motion is becoming.

I’ve also realized something else.  Protecting a vision is just as important as building one.  When you begin listening to your own soul and trusting the direction that’s unfolding within you, not everyone will understand it. Some people will project their fears onto your dreams. Others may unintentionally plant doubt because your vision doesn’t make sense through the lens of their own experiences.

I’ve learned that not every dream needs to be shared while it’s still being built.  Some dreams need to be protected before they’re presented.  Sometimes the quiet seasons are where the strongest foundations are laid.

At the same time, life doesn’t pause while we’re building.  There are seasons where you’re building your dream while also rebuilding other parts of your life.  Lately, I’ve been helping rebuild my grandfather’s home, spending more time with him, raising my children, and continuing to build Manifest in Motion behind the scenes.  Some days, it feels like none of those things are moving fast enough.  Some days, it feels like the outside world can’t see any progress at all.  But just because something isn’t visible doesn’t mean it isn’t growing.

I think that’s true for our lives, too.  Not all growth is meant to be seen immediately.  Some of the most important work happens beneath the surface, long before anyone else notices.  And maybe that’s where trust is really built.

Trust isn’t waiting for proof before you believe.  Trust is continuing to take the next aligned step even when the outcome hasn’t arrived yet.  Because the timing isn’t ours to control.  Our job isn’t to force the outcome.  Our job is simply to keep moving.  To keep building.  To keep choosing the next aligned action.  To keep believing in the vision we’ve been given.

I’ve found that every time I loosen my grip on control, life has a way of creating something far greater than I could have designed on my own.  Not because I stopped working.  But because I stopped believing it was my job to control every detail.

Maybe that’s what this season is teaching me.  Sometimes the greatest act of faith isn’t doing more.  It’s trusting that what you’re building in private today will become the life you’re living tomorrow.
