ISSUE 34 - Redefining Patience

One of the greatest lessons I continue to work through is patience, or what I now realize is really trust.  For a long time, I believed my need to control outcomes came from wanting things to happen. But the deeper truth is that it came from wanting to feel safe. If I could predict what was next, if I could control how everything unfolded, then maybe I could protect myself from disappointment, uncertainty, or getting hurt.

But what I’ve come to believe is that control often robs us of the opportunity to experience magic.  It limits what the universe is capable of creating.  It keeps us attached to outcomes that were designed by our minds instead of remaining open to what our souls have been quietly guiding us toward all along.

I’m in a really interesting season of my life right now.  I can feel something shifting.  I can feel my reality moving in a direction that I haven’t fully stepped into yet. I can feel opportunities unfolding behind the scenes. I can feel relationships evolving. I can feel my soul pulling me toward a life that feels bigger than anything I’ve experienced before.

The interesting part?  I have absolutely no idea how it’s all going to happen.  And that’s uncomfortable.  There is a strange space between what your soul already knows and what your current reality can prove.  Your soul can feel itself being led toward something extraordinary while your nervous system looks around searching for evidence that it’s actually happening.

That space… is where trust is born.  There is still a part of me that wants to hold tightly to the version of life I think will be amazing.  But my soul keeps whispering something different.  Let go.

Not because the dream isn’t meant for you.  But because the universe has something even greater than what your mind has been trying to design.  I’ve experienced this too many times now to ignore it.  Every time I’ve loosened my grip on how something had to happen, the universe has delivered something I never could have coordinated on my own.  Not just different.  More aligned.  More meaningful.  More beautiful than anything I could have imagined.  That’s why I’ve realized that letting go doesn’t mean doing nothing.  It doesn’t mean sitting back and waiting for life to happen.  It means continuing to move.  Continuing to show up.  Continuing to become.  Without forcing.  Without manipulating.  Without trying to make a square peg fit into a round hole simply because fear wants certainty.

It is releasing control over the timeline, the outcome, and the path while remaining deeply committed to the vision your soul continues to place on your heart.  Because manifestation has never been about controlling the universe.  It’s about aligning with it.

When you’re asking for a life beyond anything you’ve experienced, your nervous system can’t predict what’s coming because it’s never been there before.  Of course it feels unfamiliar.  Of course it feels uncomfortable.  Your nervous system is trying to pull you back toward what it already knows because familiar feels safe.  But your soul wasn’t created to stay familiar.  It was created to expand.

This last week tested me.  Life has a funny way of placing pressure on the places that matter most.  The areas we protect.  The dreams we cherish.  The relationships we care deeply about.  Whenever one of those places feels shaken, I no longer believe it’s automatically because something is wrong.  I’ve started asking a different question.  What is my soul trying to show me?

Because over and over again, I’ve noticed that these moments of discomfort are often invitations.  Invitations to trust more deeply.  To surrender more fully.  To release another layer of the version of myself that no longer belongs in the future I’m creating.

Every single time this happens, I move.  I go outside.  I walk.  I reconnect with one of the Seven Movement Pathways.  I move my body because movement has become the place where my nervous system softens enough for my soul to be heard.  It’s where the fear begins to quiet.  It’s where clarity arrives.  It’s where I stop listening to the stories my mind is creating and begin listening to the wisdom my soul has known all along.

And almost every single time, what follows isn’t proof that everything is falling apart.  It’s a breakthrough.  A new understanding.  An opportunity I couldn’t have planned.  A conversation I never expected.  Movement forward that I never could have orchestrated on my own.  The universe has never asked me to control every detail.  It has only ever asked me to stay in alignment.  To keep moving.  To trust.

So when I think about patience now, I don’t think about waiting.  I don’t think about frustration.  I don’t think about standing still until life finally catches up.  Patience has become something entirely different.  Patience is trusting that the universe is already moving pieces I cannot yet see.  It is believing that my soul already knows where I’m going long before my eyes can recognize the path.  It is continuing to become the person my future requires while allowing the universe to determine how it arrives.  It is choosing alignment over attachment.  Movement over force.  Trust over control.

Maybe patience was never the lesson after all.  Maybe trust was.  Trust that your soul already knows.  Trust that the universe is arranging what you cannot yet see.  Trust that every step you take in alignment matters, even when there is no immediate evidence.

Because every extraordinary life asks us to walk through a season where our inner knowing arrives long before our outer reality.  And maybe… That space between the two isn’t there to test us.  Maybe it’s where we learn to trust ourselves.  Maybe it’s where we learn to trust the universe.  And maybe that’s where the real magic begins.
