Issue 48 - What’s Already in Motion
This week was another big week of expansion for Manifest in Motion. I signed off on the final version of the website, which means the developers can officially begin building out the site and e-commerce experience. And now comes what might be the hardest part… waiting. There is something almost funny about how often the Universe continues to bring me back to this lesson. Just because you cannot see something happening in front of you does not mean nothing is happening. So much can be building behind the scenes. Foundations are being laid. Pieces are connecting. People are working. Ideas are becoming tangible. Your future can be taking shape long before you have physical evidence of it in front of you. The excitement I feel about seeing the Manifest in Motion site finally come to life is almost impossible to explain. This vision has lived in my mind, my notes, my conversations, and my heart for so long. Knowing that it is now officially being built feels like another one of those quiet moments where something that once existed only as an idea begins moving into reality.
And that was not the only significant step this week. I also had an incredibly exciting meeting with an editor. For the first time, I was able to really sit down with someone and share the larger story of what I am building, the 49-Day Reset journal, the memoir I have been writing, the methodology behind Manifest in Motion, and the experiences that created all of it. We had an incredible conversation. I felt comfortable enough with her to really open up and share my story, and there were several moments throughout our conversation where both of us became emotional. To me, that meant something. Because one of the most important things to understand about Manifest in Motion is that this is not simply an idea I came up with. It is lived. Every part of it is deeply personal. When I make shifts, change language, create a new practice, question something, or develop another piece of the methodology, it almost always comes from somewhere I have actually been. Sometimes it comes from healing, reflection, something I am moving through in real time, growth, or something my body has taught me before my mind has even fully understood it.
Manifest in Motion has so much of my DNA inside of it. And because of that, the way I am building this business is probably a little different from the way traditional business advice might tell me to build it. Of course I want to make smart decisions. I want strong partnerships. I want experienced people around me. I want to listen to people I deeply trust and learn from those who know more than I do. But I am also building this through spirituality. Through intuition. Through my relationship with the Universe. Through energetic alignment. Through paying attention to how something feels in my body. There is a difference between making a decision solely from your mind and making one when your mind, intuition, body, experience, and spirituality all seem to be pointing you in the same direction. You move differently. You move with more efficiency, trust, bravery, and confidence. Not because you know exactly how everything is going to work out, but because you have developed a deeper relationship with yourself.
And, in so many ways, that is Manifest in Motion. It is not about ignoring logic. It is about bringing your entire self into the decision. Your body. Your mind. Your intuition. Your experiences. Your spirituality. And then moving. Moving forward, I am beginning a test project with this editor, and I am genuinely so excited. I want to see what she brings to the work. I want to see how we connect as a team. I want to hear what she thinks of my writing and what I have built so far. And I want to see what kind of magic can be created when something so personal begins being shaped in partnership with someone else.
There was another important moment this week that had absolutely nothing to do with business. I had parent-teacher conferences for both of my kids. Going into those meetings always creates a certain kind of check-in for me. Maybe especially as a single parent. There is always a part of you wondering, how am I doing? You know who your children are at home. You know how they interact with you. You see pieces of who they are around friends and during activities. But there is something different about sitting across from someone who spends so much time with them in an environment where you are not present and hearing who your children are becoming. And when a teacher looks at you and essentially says, “Whatever you are doing, keep doing it.” There are very few things that can touch a parent more deeply. Yes, they are thriving academically. And of course I am incredibly proud of that. But what meant the most to me was hearing about the people they are. How they treat others. How kind they are. How they interact with their peers. How they show up. The human beings they are becoming. That matters more to me than almost anything.
And I think there was another layer to that moment for me. If you are a single parent, or if you are someone struggling with the decision of whether to keep a family structure together at the expense of your own wellbeing, I understand how enormous that question can feel. But one of the greatest reassurances I continue to receive is watching my children thrive. They are watching a mother who is not happy every second. They are watching a mother who gets tired. Who gets overwhelmed. Who has difficult days. But they are also watching someone who is genuinely excited about life. Someone who is curious about what is possible. Someone who is building. Dreaming. Creating. Taking risks. Following intuition. And chasing after the things that make her feel alive. There is something incredibly powerful about allowing your children to witness that.
This week, though, my body also reminded me of something else. I was tired. Really tired. I continued to move, but I slowed down. There is so much happening right now. So many exciting opportunities. So many things growing. And at the same time, there are the normal pieces of life still happening every single day. School. Activities. Work. Home. Parenting. And now we are entering that time of year where everything begins accelerating. We are about a week away from Halloween. Then suddenly it is Thanksgiving. Then the holidays. The activities start piling up, with traditions and parties. Trying to plan, the gifts, travel… It is exciting I absolutely love this time of year. But I also think this season carries an emotional undertone that we do not always talk about. The holidays naturally become a kind of checkpoint. We gather with people we may not have seen in a while. We think about traditions and remember previous years. We notice what has changed, who is here and who is not, what has grown and what has ended. And somewhere underneath all of the celebration, we begin reflecting on the year we are finishing. I actually love that. We still have a couple of months before a new year begins. There is no need to suddenly reinvent your entire life. But there is something powerful about beginning to notice. How do I want to finish this year? How do I want to feel walking into the next one? What have I learned? And what is my body telling me as I move through all of it? I think this is where the methodology becomes especially important for me. Movement, awareness, reflection, direction, environment, release and energy. Not as another list of things I need to accomplish, but as ways of staying connected to myself while life continues to expand. Because maybe the end of the year is not about rushing to become someone completely new by January 1. Maybe it is about paying attention. Listening. Making small adjustments. Allowing certain things to fall away. Strengthening what is working. And becoming more intentional about what you are building next.
This week reminded me that there is so much happening that I cannot see yet. A website being built behind a screen. A book becoming something greater through collaboration. Children growing into incredible people in rooms where I am not present. A future taking shape through decisions that sometimes feel very small in the moment. And maybe that is the reminder for this Sunday, not everything meaningful happens where you can immediately see it. Some of the most important growth happens underground. Behind the scenes. In quiet conversations. In choices nobody applauds. In rest. In reflection. In trusting that the things you have planted are still growing even when there is nothing above the surface yet. So as we move into these final months of the year, I am paying attention. To what I am carrying. To what I am releasing. To what I am building. And to what may already be taking shape long before I can see it. Keep moving. Keep listening. Keep trusting. There is more being built than you realize. Move. Manifest. Become.
